Chicago police shot a man in the leg. Chicago police shot a man in the leg. About 8:30 p.m., on December 4, 2019 officers patrolling the 11th District tried to question a man in his 20s in the 3900 block of West Wilcox Street when he ran away and allegedly showed a handgun.
The officer fired at the man, and he was hit in the leg, Deputy Chief Ernest Cato told reporters at the scene. The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious-to-critical condition, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
His condition was stabilized there, and police said he was expected the survive his wounds. One handgun was recovered from the scene, Cato said
